The Bowen technique practitioner
makes a series of gentle rolling movements, using fingers and thumbs
on precise points on the body. Most moves can be done through light
clothing. The Bowen Technique is a series of soft tissue moves designed
to allow the body to reset and heal itself. Using thumbs and fingers,
the practitioner lightly moves specific muscles, tendons and ligaments
which promotes the healthy function of body systems. It is gentle
and non-manipulative.
The Bowen technique
addresses the whole person, allowing it to re-balance itself and
commence the healing process. Sometimes it is appropriate to treat
several parts of the body, often treating parts of the body not
apparently connected to the area of pain. On some occasions it is
more effective to do very little work, concentrating on a small
area of the body
